Kaepernick donates $50K each to Meals on Wheels, Somalia initiative

Colin Kaepernick continues to put his money where his mouth is when it comes to enacting positive change in the world.

Kapernick recently donated $50,000 each to Meals on Wheels and the Love Army for Somalia, two initiatives that seek to feed those in need, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

Kaepernick has now donated $500,000 of the $1 million he pledged to charity last fall, after making headlines by opting to kneel for the national anthem before San Francisco 49ers games in 2016.

Kaepernick remains a free agent in the NFL, and has said he won't kneel for the anthem this season. There are also rumors that teams are afraid to sign him because it might lead to criticism from President Donald Trump.
