Report: Browns HC, GM not at Trubisky's pro day

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL will be well represented at North Carolina's pro day Tuesday, but two prominent names won't be on hand to see quarterback prospect Mitchell Trubisky show off his stuff.

Neither Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson nor general manager Sashi Brown will attend the event, May Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.

Their absence is highly conspicuous, as the Browns hold the first overall pick in the draft, need a quarterback, and are heavily rumored to like Trubisky as a prospect.

The Browns will have scouts on hand to watch Trubisky, Cabot notes, and both Jackson and Brown will surely get a close look at the Tar Heels passer at a private visit before the draft.

Still, given Trubisky's limited tape (he started a scant 13 games in college), it's surprising that the Browns' top brass has opted not to take every opportunity to look at him under the microscope.
