Report: Raiders 'strongly considering' acquiring Marshawn Lynch
As the Oakland Raiders set out to fill a glaring need in the offensive backfield, a blockbuster move suddenly appears to be very much on the table.
Oakland is "strongly considering" acquiring retired running back Marshawn Lynch from the Seattle Seahawks either by way of a trade or his release, ESPN's Adam Schefter and Josina Anderson report.

Lynch, one of the most productive ball carriers of his generation, retired from the NFL after nine seasons last year.
His return would certainly make for a shocking storyline, and any acquisition would involve prying him away from the Seahawks, who still hold his rights.
Lynch, a proud Oakland native, is still just 30 years old. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, he's still in shape and has considered the possibility of making a return.
If indeed acquired, the five-time Pro Bowler would presumably be the favorite to step in for free-agent departee Latavius Murray in handling early down carries.
Lynch played three-plus seasons with the Buffalo Bills upon being selected in the first round of the 2007 draft. His career took off following a 2010 trade to Seattle, where he'd go on to rack up 6,347 rushing yards and 57 touchdowns before walking away at the end of the 2015 campaign.
