Falcons' Dontari Poe: Heading to Atlanta

Poe agreed to terms on a one-year, $8 million contract with the Falcons on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Analysis:

Poe was one of the last big-ticket players available in free agency. The 6-foot-3, 346 pound defensive tackle recorded a career-low 27 combined tackles in 16 games played last season, but his massive frame is still capable of wreaking havoc on opposing offenses. Atlanta was 26th in the NFL with 4.5 yards allowed per carry in 2016, so Poe will be welcomed as a boost to the Falcons' run defense as they try to make another push deep into the playoffs.
