Report: Murray's 3-year deal with Vikings worth $15M

The Minnesota Vikings appeared to have paid up to get their new running back under contract.

Latavius Murray's three-year deal to step in as the replacement for Adrian Peterson is worth a total of roughly $15 million, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

An annual average of $5 million puts Murray in a tie for 10th among the NFL's highest-paid running backs.

The former sixth-round pick's payday comes on the heels of a fairly productive two-year stretch to close out his time with the Oakland Raiders, where he totaled 1,854 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns across 30 games.

Murray will be the favorite for early-down work going forward, while Jerick McKinnon should remain a capable option for rotational carries and as a receiver out of the backfield.
