Report: Rams, Dunbar agree to 1-year deal

Don McPeak / USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams and free-agent running back Lance Dunbar have agreed to a one-year contract worth up to $3 million, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports, citing a source.

Dunbar heads for Southern California after spending the first five years of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys.

The 27-year-old hasn't had much production since breaking into the league as an undrafted free agent in 2012, but he's shown flashes of the ability to contribute as a receiver out of the backfield.

Such a skill set will likely have Dunbar in line for a rotational role, and in the running for some third-down duties, behind Todd Gurley in the Los Angeles backfield.
