After reportedly planning to release him Wednesday, the Baltimore Ravens have instead traded center Jeremy Zuttah to the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced.

The teams will also swap 2017 sixth-round picks, moving the Ravens up from pick No. 198 to No. 186.

Zuttah still has to pass a physical for the trade to become official, but adding him would represent another positional upgrade in a busy offseason for new general manager John Lynch. Zuttah, a nine-year veteran, is coming off his first Pro Bowl season.

"(Head coach) Kyle (Shanahan) and I are firm believers that competition brings out the best in everyone," Lynch told his team website. "We also believe that you can never have enough good offensive linemen, and Jeremy has certainly proven to be a very talented player."

The 30-year-old center started all 16 games for the Ravens last season.
