Broncos' Devontae Booker: Will see fresh faces on offensive line

The Broncos have committed nearly $24 million in guarantees to free-agent acquisitions Ronald Leary and Menelik Watson, moves likely to bolster the amount of running room for Booker in 2017, 9News Denver reports.

Analysis:

Leary comes to Denver from Dallas, where he helped form one of the league's top offensive line units, and he's likely to play opposite Max Garcia at one of Denver's guard spots. With a revolving door -- in terms of both personnel shuffling and vulnerability to pass rushers -- at tackle in recent years, and last year's starting left tackle Russell Okung off to Los Angeles, Watson provides Denver with the necessary athleticism to compete for either spot. The additions signal a commitment to fixing what was Pro Football Focus' sixth-lowest-ranked offensive line in affording its running backs yards before contact in 2016. Provided Denver continues to address the line in the upcoming draft as expected, Booker figures to have more running room at his disposal during his sophomore campaign.
