Report: Packers, Davon House reunite on 1-year, $3.5M deal

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a one-year contract with free-agent cornerback Davon House, a source told Tom Silverstein of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

House, who spent the first four years of his career in Green Bay, gets a $3.5-million deal to rejoin the Packers after two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Oddly, the sides reportedly came to an agreement while House was visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Adding House to the mix at cornerback fills a major need for the Packers after a 2016 season in which the defense surrendered a league-worst 8.1 yards per pass attempt.

Though the former fourth-round pick was unable to live up to expectations after landing a four-year, $24.5-million contract with Jacksonville, it's possible a return to Green Bay helps him recapture his previous form.

House should compete for starting snaps alongside recent early round draft picks Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins.
