Eddie Lacy is heading out west.

After exploring their free-agent options with a number of visits, the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms with former Green Bay Packers running back, his agency announced Tuesday.

Blessed for another opportunity to play the game that I love. Thank you @Seahawks #GodIsGood #GoHawks

Lacy, a former second-round pick, lands with Seattle on a one-year deal worth $5.55 million that includes $3 million in guarantees, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Ability has never been a concern for Lacy, but a history of weight issues and an ankle injury that limited him to five games last season raised some questions heading into his free agency.

The contract he lands in Seattle amounts to something of a prove-it deal, on which he'll have the opportunity for some significant work alongside promising young backs Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise.

Lacy took 71 carries for 360 yards, a career-high 5.1 yards per attempt, last season before being sent to injured reserve in October.
