Report: Chiefs sign Logan to 1-year deal

Dale Zanine / USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs have reached a one-year agreement with free-agent defensive tackle Bennie Logan, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Logan has been a mainstay on the Eagles' defensive line for the first four years of his career, starting every game he's played over the last three seasons. He totaled 24 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 2016.

The move could signal the end of Dontari Poe's tenure with Kansas City. Poe was reported to have met with the Chiefs but has also held free-agent visits with the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars, and plans to meet the Atlanta Falcons.

The Chiefs are likely hoping Logan will slide right into the spot Poe would vacate for the defending AFC West division champions.

Logan was among the best remaining free agents on the market.
