Lions continue to reinforce line, add Lang on 3-year deal

Guard T.J. Lang has agreed to a three-year deal with the Detroit Lions, his agent announced.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Lang's contract is worth $28.5 million with $19 million guaranteed, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The 29-year-old spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Green Bay Packers, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2016.

The Packers tried to retain Lang, the top free-agent offensive lineman remaining on the market Sunday, and the Seattle Seahawks also made a run at him.

Instead, it will be the Lions bolstering the interior of their line. The team lost Larry Warford and Riley Reiff in free agency, but signed coveted right tackle Rick Wagner.

It's hard not to see both Lang and Wagner as upgrades. Along with 2016 first-round pick Taylor Decker, the Lions' line should be solidified for years to come.
