His first year on the job, new San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch has found himself impressed with what he's seen while studying tape of this year's draft prospects.

Lynch admitted as much Thursday at the scouting combine.

He then went on to heap effusive praise on this year's quarterback class.

On Notre Dame quarterback Deshone Kizer:

On Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes:

On North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who confirmed his size earlier Thursday morning:

Lynch also said the possibility remains the 49ers could bring Kaepernick back at a more affordable price.

"We left that door open in a very real and positive way," Lynch said, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.
