The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Antonio Brown to a five-year contract on Monday, the team confirmed.

Brown is now under contract through the 2021 season, with one year left on his contract prior to signing the extension.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team, but Brown signed a four-year extension worth $68 million, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. Brown will receive $17 million per year over four years.

The 28-year-old was slated to earn $4.7 million in base salary for the 2017 season, prior to the extension.

It was reported earlier Monday that both parties were making "significant progress" towards a lucrative extension.

Brown is coming off another outstanding season, recording 106 catches for 1,284 yards and 12 touchdowns, operating as the fulcrum of the Steelers' passing game.

The wide receiver celebrated with agent Drew Rosenhaus on Monday:

Pittsburgh also applied the franchise tag on running back Le'Veon Bell, securing the core of the offense for the 2017 season.
