The Carolina Panthers have retained another impending free-agent defensive end.

The club re-signed Wes Horton to a two-year contract on Monday morning. This comes after the Panthers re-signed Mario Addison on Sunday.

Horton spent the first four years of his career in Carolina. In 2016, he played in 11 games and tallied 11 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

"This is a very big day from where I started in the NFL, just being a guy trying to make a roster and find a way into the league. So to have the opportunity to have this extension with the Panthers is unbelievable," Horton said on Panthers.com. "It's a moment I've worked for my whole career, and now that I'm here, I'm just very thankful."

The Panthers have two other defensive linemen set to hit free agency: end Charles Johnson and tackle Kyle Love. Kawann Short was given the franchise tag on Monday.
