Browns release Andrew Hawkins

The Cleveland Browns have released wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, the team announced Monday.

Hawkins had spent each of the past three years with the Browns after beginning his NFL career with the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals.

He appeared in a total of 39 games over that stretch, starting in 28 of which and recording 123 receptions for 1,424 yards and five touchdowns.

The Browns move forward looking to build around their young talent at the position, including breakout star Terrelle Pryor and 2016 draft picks Corey Coleman, Ricardo Louis, Rashard Higgins, and Jordan Payton.
