Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett was diagnosed with having signs of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in late 2013 and has been battling ever since.

At an event marking the 25th anniversary the the Dallas Cowboys' 1992 Super Bowl title, Dorsett told reporters about his fight with the brain disease.

"I'm fighting CTE, man, and I have good days and I have bad days," Dorsett said. "The unfortunate thing is sometimes I got more bad than good. Is it what it is and I'm trying to maintain and handle it."

Asked about current Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's propensity for attempting to leap over defenders, Dorsett joked that he cringes every time he sees Elliott make a leap, leaving the young running back susceptible to injury.

"He better stop that. That is the one thing that I don't like. Because when you get airborne, you're at the mercy of the hit. Sometimes, you can't protect yourself. I think as he gets older, he may take that out of his repertoire."
