The Kansas City Chiefs signed free-agent running back C.J. Spiller on Friday.

Spiller has bounced around the league in recent years. He spent 2016 with the New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, and New York Jets. As a result, he registered just six carries for 18 yards last season.

His best year came in 2012 when he recorded 1,244 rushing yards and six touchdowns for the Buffalo Bills, but he followed that up with seasons of 933, 300, 112, and 18 total rushing yards.

The Chiefs ranked 15th in rushing last year with Spencer Ware commanding most of the carries and Charcandrick West serving as a fill-in. Jamaal Charles spent all but three games on the sidelines as he rehabilitated a knee injury.
