Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Danny Shelton revealed on his official Twitter account Wednesday that he recently underwent wrist surgery.

Shelton responding to a fan's inquiry about a cast he was wearing during a public appearance is the first acknowledgement of the offseason procedure from either player or team.

Any issue appears to have been minor, though, as the former 2015 first-round pick said in a follow-up tweet that he'll be ready for next season.

Shelton emerged as a consistent interior force for the Browns in his second season out of Washington, tallying 59 tackles and 1.5 sacks. His healthy presence up front will be imperative for the Cleveland defense to start moving in the right direction in 2017.
