Harrison's agent: Mutual interest in deal to re-sign with Steelers

All signs continue to point toward James Harrison playing a 14th season in Pittsburgh.

The veteran pass-rusher's agent, Bill Parise, told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that there's mutual interest between his client and the Steelers organization ahead of free agency.

Harrison had indicated at the end of the team's playoff run that he wasn't considering retiring, and an agreement to keep him in town always appeared to be the most likely scenario looking ahead to the fall.

Whether it's before the new league year officially gets underway, or at some point closer to the draft, there doesn't appear to be much standing in the way of a contract that all but ensures Harrison will finish his career with the Steelers.

The 38-year-old racked up a team-high five sacks in the 2016 regular season, passing Jason Gildon for most in franchise history, before adding another 2.5 in the playoffs.

If indeed re-signed, Harrison will almost certainly return to a lead role in the Steelers' front seven.
