Entering what ought to be the most turbulent offseason of his career, Jimmy Garoppolo is trying to keep his mind clear of distractions.

Rampant speculation has been surfacing for months about whether Garoppolo will be traded this offseason, with the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and Chicago Bears rumored to be interested in acquiring him.

Garoppolo, who excelled during Tom Brady's four-game suspension, wants to avoid thinking about any prospective move.

"For the most part I'm just trying to stay level-headed, try not to overthink it too much," Garoppolo said to ESPN's Adam Schefter on the "Know Them From Adam" podcast. "Because at the end of the day I'm still under contract. It's not my decision if I get traded or if I don't. So you try to take it all in stride."

Garoppolo is under contract through 2017 and is slated to become an unrestricted free agent next summer. If acquired in a trade, Garoppolo would likely command a lucrative extension.

For the time being, Garoppolo is enjoying his offseason as the New England Patriots bask in the glory of their Super Bowl victory, but he's all too aware that his tenure with the club could come to an sharp end.
