Mixon will take part in Oklahoma pro day

Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon wasn't invited to the scouting combine, so NFL teams will have to wait until his pro day to get a look at the prospect.

The University of Oklahoma confirmed to NFL Network that Mixon will participate in drills on March 8, according to Chase Goodbread of NFL.com.

The NFL has recently instituted a policy that keeps players with felonious records from participating in the scouting combine. Mixon was charged with misdemeanor assault after punching a female student in the face in 2014.

After serving a one-year suspension from college football, Mixon recorded 753 rushing yards and seven scores in 2015 and topped that with 1,274 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in 2016, his sophomore year.
