New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was arraigned in court and released from custody Friday night, having turned himself in to police at the Pittsburgh Municipal Courts.

The 31-year-old received a non-monetary bond and a court date for next Thursday, according to ESPN's Coley Harvey. He must appear at all hearings and cannot have any contact with alleged victims or witnesses. Revis was also given 72 hours to turn in his passport.

Revis was charged with four first-degree felonies Thursday evening, including two felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony count of robbery, and one felony count of conspiracy (aggravated assault). He's also facing one misdemeanor count of terroristic threats stemming from an incident Sunday morning.

Revis' now-former attorney, Blaine Jones, said Friday morning he anticipated the player would turn himself in.

If convicted, Revis faces up to 20 years in jail, according to Michael McCann of Sports Illustrated.

NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said the league would look into the incident. The Jets confirmed to NFL.com that they are aware of Revis' status.

Pittsburgh Police released a statement detailing an incident Sunday morning where a 22-year-old male approached Revis and recorded their conversation on his cell phone, while continuing to follow the cornerback. Revis allegedly grabbed and threw the phone, before a 21-year-old male helped retrieve it, leading to another verbal standoff.

Both men alleged they were punched by Revis, and said the next thing they remembered was speaking to police. Police then viewed the cell phone video and confirmed Revis as the assailant.

Jones provided a different account of the incident, stating Revis was walking by a group of men, one of whom allegedly bumped into him while intoxicated. Revis tried to calm the aggressive party down, allegedly stating he didn't want any trouble.

Revis walked away from the group, but eventually turned around and knocked the cell phone out of the party's hands, leading to a physical altercation. Jones said Revis sought medical attention but did not reveal the severity of his injuries.

"It's my understanding that when Darrelle turned around he wasn't sure whether it was a weapon or a phone," Jones said Thursday via ESPN's Rich Cimini. "He didn't know. He just knows he left, these guys were saying his name, he turns around and sees an object and he wasn't sure what it was or whether he was going to get robbed or assaulted or what."

Jones told Harvey that he is removing himself from the case Friday, but he thinks Revis has a "good case" and wants the cell phone video to be released. Revis' new lawyer, Bob Del Greco, arrived in court just before 9:30 ET Friday night.
