The Denver Broncos are ready to start spending their free-agent dollars, and their shopping list could begin with a veteran receiver cut loose by the New York Giants on Tuesday.

The Broncos are working to set up a meeting with Victor Cruz, ESPN's Jeff Legwold reports.

Denver is seeking to boost its receiving corps, which is shallow after starters Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

Cruz would surely have to prove he's healthy before getting offered a deal. The 30-year-old hasn't looked the same since tearing his patellar tendon in October 2014.
