Kraft: Brady's missing jersey 'will be back,' update could come soon

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft sounds like a man who knows more than he is letting on about the fate of Tom Brady's stolen jersey.

The Super Bowl MVP's attire was lifted from the Patriots' locker room after their win over the Falcons. There have been no substantial updates on the search for its whereabouts to date, as it appears police in Houston have moved on to investigating more important crimes.

Kraft hasn't forgotten about the jersey, however, and hinted to FOX Business Network's Maria Bartiromo on Monday that an update on its whereabouts could soon emerge.

"It’s very sad to me that someone would do something like this. It’s like taking a great Chagall or Picasso or something. You can never display it. And somehow, I feel there’ll be some news that’ll clear this up in the not-too-distant future," Kraft said.

There are a number of theories about what happened to the jersey, including that it was stolen by a Patriots staffer, but Kraft's choice of words suggests he knows more than the public about this matter.

"I hope it’ll be cleared up soon. I think that a lot of people spend a lot of time looking into the matter and what happened, and I’d rather not say anything that would cause any problems in the work that’s been done," Kraft added.

"One way or another, that jersey will be back."
