Clinton-Dix clarifies comments, backs Packers' DC

In an Instagram post bidding farewell to Sam Shields, who was released Thursday, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix wrote what many perceived as a shot at Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers.

After seeing the reaction, the standout safety took to Twitter to clarify his comment thanking Shields "for lining up and playing whatever Dom Capers called whether we liked it or not."

Clinton-Dix explained as part of a multi-tweet rant that Capers' play-calling is "good enough," and that the criticism was for teammates who complain about said calls.

His clarification makes sense looking back on the original post, but Clinton-Dix may now have to answer for publicly outing his teammates, regardless of whether he doesn't intend to throw anyone under the bus.

The former first-round pick enjoyed the best season of his career in leading an otherwise depleted Packers secondary, finishing the 2016 campaign with 80 tackles, five interceptions, seven passes defensed, and 0.5 sacks.
