Thomas: Brady texted me after Super Bowl, said 'It's your turn next'

Boston athletes, even if they aren't homegrown, tend to share a strong regional pride.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady came to the Boston Celtics' free-agent pitch meeting with Kevin Durant in the summer. Retired Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz went nuts when the Patriots won the Super Bowl on Sunday. And Brady, who led the Patriots to said victory, reached out to Celtics All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas shortly after winning his fifth ring.

Thomas said Tuesday that Brady texted him after the Super Bowl with this message: "It's your turn next."

The Celtics have been on a roll lately, with seven straight wins catapulting them to second in the Eastern Conference. Still, getting past both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors - as they'd likely need to do in order to win the title - would top even the Patriots' 25-point second-half comeback in terms of improbable Boston Sports outcomes.
