Broncos' Joseph 'absolutely' committed to Siemian, Lynch at QB

Don't go buying your Tony Romo jerseys just yet, Broncos fans.

While Denver has been seen as a popular landing spot for the veteran quarterback looking ahead to his expected offseason availability, Vance Joseph remains focused on the signal-callers on the current roster.

The new Broncos head coach explained in a press conference Tuesday that he's still committed to a competition between Trevor Siemian and 2016 first-round pick Paxton Lynch.

Joseph has been voicing his support for Siemian and Lynch ever since officially being hired by the Broncos last month, and it's entirely possible that the club ends up having them battle it out in camp over the summer.

Should Romo become available at a price tag that's attractive to John Elway and the rest of the Denver front-office staff, though, the fit is undeniable.

Despite fielding the NFL's fourth-ranked defense, highlighted by a league-best showing against the pass, the Broncos posted just nine wins and missed out on the playoffs for the first time since 2010.

Siemian was under center for 14 games following the departures of Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler last year, completing 59.5 percent of his passes for 3,401 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Lynch didn't fare any better in his limited opportunities, connecting on 59 percent of attempts for 497 yards, two touchdowns, and one pick in three appearances.

The underwhelming play from the most important position on the field was a leading factor in Denver finishing the season ranked 27th in total yards, the worst mark in franchise history.
