Price: I stole Brady's jersey 'so his greatness rubs off'

After stumbling through an inconsistent first season in Boston, Red Sox left-hander David Price has purportedly resorted to some unlawful tactics to get his Cy Young form back.

As the New England Patriots paraded through the streets of Boston on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate their victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, Price claimed on Twitter that he was the one who pilfered Tom Brady's game-used jersey following Sunday's improbable win at HRG Stadium in Houston.

Unlike Brady, who earned his fifth Super Bowl ring with Sunday's come-from-behind 34-28 victory, Price has been a total flop in the postseason throughout his career.

Since making his MLB debut in 2008, the five-time All-Star has put up an ugly 5.91 ERA over 70 playoff innings and has yet to earn a single win in nine starts.

This past season, after signing a seven-year, $217-million contract with the Red Sox, Price managed a 3.99 ERA - his worst since his rookie season - while allowing a career-worst 30 home runs in 230 innings for the American League East champions. In his lone postseason start of 2016, Price didn't make it out of the fourth, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks over 3 1/3 innings in an eventual 6-0 loss to the Cleveland Indians in Game 2 of the ALDS.
