The Los Angeles Rams will request permission to speak with Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach Matt LaFleur regarding their vacant offensive coordinator position, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

LaFleur was the presumed favorite to replace Atlanta's current offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan when he becomes the San Francisco 49ers' head coach next season, so the Falcons could be forced to look elsewhere.

New Rams head coach Sean McVay worked with LaFleur with the Washington Redskins, and LaFleur is reportedly interested in reuniting.

In Los Angeles, LaFleur would be tasked with turning around a struggling Rams offense and developing former No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff.
