New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald were named co-winners of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award at Saturday's NFL Honors show.

Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen was the third finalist to be named. This is the third time in NFL history the award has gone to two winners with LaDainian Tomlinson and Drew Brees most recently sharing the honor.

Each team nominates one player from their club based on work done in their communities.

Manning earned his nomination from his work as the chair of the New York March for Babies and the Tackle Kids Cancer campaign. He has also raised close to $4.5 million over the past five years through his own foundations - the Eli and Abby Manning Children's Clinics and the University of Mississippi Medical Center Manning Family Fund.

Fitzgerald has been as charitable off the field as he has been productive on it, working with the American Cancer Society and his own Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund among other foundations. Through his own charity, Fitzgerald donated tablet computer labs to 10 schools in Minneapolis and Phoenix and worked to prevent and cure breast cancer and support breast cancer survivors.

Manning is the first Giants player to win the award, while Fitzgerald joins 2008 winner Kurt Warner as the second player in Cardinals history to win the honor.
