Mike Evans lobbies for Bucs to add a receiver

Orlando Ramirez / USA TODAY Sports

Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans had the best season of his three-year career in 2016, hauling in 96 catches for 1,321 yards and 12 touchdowns, earning a trip to his first Pro Bowl as a result.

Evans was the focal point of the Bucs' offense all season, a reality that's not lost on him. The Buccaneers' second-leading receiver was Adam Humphries, who tallied just 622 yards and two touchdowns.

Asked at the Pro Bowl for his thoughts on the team's receiving corps, Evans made it abundantly clear he's open to getting some help.

"I want the best receiver that helps us win. I don't care who it is or what he's paid," Evans told JoeBucsFan.com.

"Another great receiver on the team gets me more chances," he added.

Evans also dismissed any notion that he would disapprove of sharing the spotlight on offense.

"If we brought in a top receiver, I'd do what (veteran Vincent Jackson) did," Evans said. "He coached me up, helped me, made the transition easier, like he's done for a lot of guys. That's what I'd do."
