Peyton Manning appears to be making a foray into politics after retiring from football last March.

Manning will speak at a Republican event that will include various members of the Senate and House of Representatives, along with President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and British Prime Minister Theresa May, Cindy Boren of The Washington Post reports.

Trump previously boasted about his friendship with Manning last year.

"I very much have always liked Peyton Manning," Trump said. "He is a very good guy. I know him. And he is a very, very good guy."

Manning donated to Jeb Bush's presidential campaign in 2015.
