Report: Irsay will personally hire Colts' GM

Brian Spurlock / USA TODAY Sports

Jim Irsay isn't shy to remind everyone he owns the Indianapolis Colts and he can do what he want with them - especially when it comes to hirings.

As the Colts search for their next general manager, it will be Irsay who will be making the hire on his own, a source told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.

Irsay took his time before firing former GM Ryan Grigson on Saturday, three weeks after the team played their last game of the season.

Current Colts vice president of football operations Jimmy Raye III is reportedly the favorite to land the job. Minnesota Vikings assistant GM George Paton and Seattle Seahawks co-directors of player personnel Trent Kirchner and Scott Fitterer are also receiving consideration.
