Redskins announce promotions of Cavanaugh, Manusky; hiring of Tomsula

The Washington Redskins made a number of coaching moves official on Monday.
Washington promoted quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh to offensive coordinator, promoted Greg Manusky from outside linebackers coach to defensive coordinator, and hired former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula as its defensive line coach.
The team's former offensive coordinator Sean McVay was tabbed as the Los Angeles Rams' new head coach, and former defensive coordinator Joe Barry was fired at the close of the season.
Tomsula has been out of football since being fired following his first and only year as 49ers head coach in 2015.
