James Harrison not planning to retire

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

James Harrison's season may be over, but his career is not.

The Pittsburgh Steelers veteran linebacker said after Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the New England Patriots that he's "not done" playing, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson. Harrison insists his body can still take the punishment necessary to go on.

"I feel fine, I feel little nicks and bruises here and there, but other than that I feel fine," said Harrison. "Time will heal all that."

Harrison is 38 years old and will turn 39 before the 2017 season begins. He is set to become a free agent in March if he does not reach a new deal with the Steelers.

The five-time Pro Bowler led the Steelers in sacks this season with five.
