Bills' Watkins, Lawson underwent successful surgeries

Buffalo Bills receiver Sammy Watkins underwent a second surgery on his foot last week and rookie defensive lineman Shaq Lawson had arthroscopic knee surgery, the team announced Friday.

Watkins should be ready for training camp and Lawson could be cleared for OTAs, the team states.

It's the second offseason in a row that Watkins, the team's top receiving threat, has had to undergo foot surgery. He played in just eight games this year as he was placed on injured reserve early in the season after citing discomfort in the foot. He did not undergo foot surgery at the time, opting instead for rest and rehab.

He returned in Week 12 but had limited production while battling the nagging injury the rest of the way.

Lawson began the year on the PUP list with a shoulder injury but returned to play in 10 games.
