Report: Seahawks exec Kirchner pulls out of running for 49ers GM job

Kirby Lee / US PRESSWIRE

The San Francisco 49ers' search for a new general manager continues to yield zero results.

After firing Trent Baalke before the end of the regular season, the team lined up an interview with a pair of Seattle Seahawks executives. However, co-director of player personnel Trent Kirchner has taken his name out of the running, reports Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.

Kirchner interviewed with the team on Monday, but "was not comfortable with the working environment with the 49ers," a source relayed to Maiocco.

Fellow Seahawks director of player personnel Scott Fitterer also interviewed for the gig.

The 49ers remain the sole NFL team still looking for a GM and head coach.
