The Washington Redskins' next defensive coordinator may already be in the building.

The team interviewed Greg Manusky, its outside linebackers coach, for the vacant position on Tuesday.

Former Redskins defensive coordinator Joe Barry was among a slew of coaches on the defensive side of the ball that were fired at the close of the season. The Redskins finished 28th in total defense in 2016.

Manusky has held defensive coordinator positions with three other teams. He was the San Francisco 49ers' defensive coach from 2007-2010 and held the same role for the San Diego Chargers in 2011 and Indianapolis Colts from 2012-2015.

Manusky joins former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley, former Buffalo Bills defensive coach Rob Ryan, and former Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine as candidates for the position.
