Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn confirmed at his introductory press conference Tuesday that Ken Whisenhunt will remain on staff as offensive coordinator in 2017, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Whisenhunt, who first served as coordinator with the Chargers for one season back in 2013, rejoined the club last January after a brief stint as Tennessee Titans head coach.

Though Lynn will presumably make some changes to the system as he takes over for now-former head coach Mike McCoy, retaining Whisenhunt provides Los Angeles with some all-important continuity on the offensive side.

The Chargers finished the 2016 campaign ranked ninth in scoring and 14th in total yards, a respectable showing given the continued injury issues across the board.
