Carroll suggests Seahawks don't need to upgrade O-line

To many in the Seattle Seahawks' fan base and media circle, the offensive line has been in trouble for a few seasons, but Pete Carroll isn't concerned.

With more cap room than usual to work with in the 2017 offseason, the Seahawks were expected to make a long-overdue investment in their blockers, but their head coach has other plans.

"This group has a chance to be really solid as they grow," Carroll told 710 ESPN radio, according to ESPN's Sheil Kapadia.

Kapadia tweeted that everything Carroll said in the interview suggests that the Seahawks are relying on the current offensive linemen to improve and produce rather than making personnel changes.

Seattle relied on three rookie linemen - including an undrafted, converted tight end at left tackle - to protect Russell Wilson against Vic Beasley and the Atlanta Falcons' pass rush in Saturday's loss.

ProFootballFocus graded the Seahawks' offensive line as the worst in the NFL during the 2016 season, citing center Justin Britt as the only passable starter.
