Redskins interview Rob Ryan for DC vacancy

Kevin Hoffman / USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Redskins interviewed former Buffalo Bills assistant head coach Rob Ryan for their vacant defensive coordinator position, the team announced Monday.

Rob worked under his brother, Rex, during the 2016 season, and spent the previous 12 years working as a DC for four different teams, including most recently the New Orleans Saints.

The 54-year-old was fired midseason by the Saints, with the team ranked dead last in total defense.

The Redskins are looking to replace Joe Barry, as well as the majority of their defensive staff following a disappointing season from that side of the ball.
