Elliott says NFL dragging on assault investigation, wants 'closure'

While the NFL has yet to give a timetable for its investigation into domestic violence accusations leveled at Ezekiel Elliott, the Dallas Cowboys running back said he hopes it ends soon.

The league reportedly recently sent follow-up questions to Elliott regarding allegation's made by his ex-girlfriend over the summer, and commissioner Roger Goodell said the league will take its time with the investigation to ensure nothing is missed.

"I do want closure," Elliott told Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. "I would rather it not drag on this long. If there was something to find, which there's not, they would've found it by now.

"The police did a very thorough investigation. It just seems like they're dragging their feet right now. Who knows, man. I'm just ready for it to end."

The league is investing two alleged incidents, one in February in which Elliott's ex-girlfriend claimed she was left with an injured arm after the rookie shoved her against a wall during an argument and one in July in which the woman posted pictures of bruises to her Instagram and tagged Elliott.

The 21-year-old wasn't arrested or charged for either incident.
