Report: Rams held 2nd interview with Redskins' McVay for HC job

Brad Mills / USA TODAY Sports

After interviewing last week, the Los Angeles Rams had a second meeting with Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Sean McVay for their head coaching vacancy, sources told Tom Pelissero of USA TODAY.

McVay, 30, is also still considered a candidate for the San Francisco 49ers' head coaching job, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. He is the grandson of former 49ers general manager John McVay.

The young coordinator has ran the Redskins' offense since 2014 and has been coaching in the NFL since 2008. Under McVay, the Washington offense was ranked third in total yards last season, averaging 403.4 per game.

If hired, McVay would become the youngest head coach in NFL history.
