Packers' Jones: Maybe the playoff stage is too big for Beckham

While many pointed to the infamous Miami boat trip as a reason for New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s lackluster playoff performance Sunday, one of his opponents has a different theory.

Beckham's dropped touchdown pass in the first quarter proved to be a missed opportunity that the receiver wouldn't get another shot at in his first career playoff game. Green Bay Packers linebacker Datone Jones, who played the sixth postseason game of his career Sunday, suggested that perhaps it was the magnitude of the matchup that cause Beckham's low production.

"Maybe the stage is too big for him," Jones told Bob McGinn of the Green Bay Press-Gazette about Beckham. "You can’t drop passes in the end zone. You get no re-do’s in this league.

"You work all year for this stage and you kind of have to be perfect. Odell Beckham dropped a few big passes for his team."

Beckham finished the game with his second-lowest yardage total of the season, catching four passes for 28 yards. He reportedly vented frustration after the game by punching a hole in a wall outside the visitor's locker room at Lambeau Field.
