Beckham: 'No way' to connect boat trip to playoff loss

Jerry Lai / USA TODAY Sports

Following the New York Giants' loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday evening, Odell Beckham Jr.'s struggles were, predictably, linked to his day trip to Miami last Monday.

But Beckham, who caught just four passes for 28 yards in the 38-13 defeat, doesn't believe there's any correlation between his team's performance and their infamous vacation.

"There's no way you can connect something that happened seven days ago to today," Beckham said after the game, according to NFL Network's Kimberly Jones. "The connection is not there, in my opinion."

The 24-year-old receiver insisted he was "never distracted" by the trip and was supported by his coach, as well as quarterback Eli Manning.

"I could've made better throws. I didn't have to make it so tough on him," Manning told Ralph Vacchiano of SNY about Beckham's struggles.

Manning added, "This game doesn't come down on (Beckham). It comes down on everybody."
