Chuck Pagano doesn't appear to be going anywhere.

The Indianapolis Colts head coach has been assured by ownership that he'll be brought back for the 2017 season, a source told Alex Marvez of The Sporting News.

Some relative silence from the organization on the heels of a second consecutive playoff absence put the futures of both Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson up in the air.

The coach now appears set to return for a sixth season, though, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport adds that the same can be expected for Grigson.

The Colts posted three consecutive 11-5 records after Pagano and Grigson were brought aboard in 2012, advancing one round further with each trip to the postseason that followed.

A .500 finish the following year was largely attributed to Andrew Luck's injury issues, but the team was unable to improve upon that standing when he made an immediate return to the NFL's elite this season.

Another 8-8 record saw Indianapolis finish in third place in the AFC South, marking only the second time since 2001 that the club has been outside the division's top two spots.
