The Philadelphia Eagles have denied the request by the New York Jets to interview Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, citing a source.

It was reported Thursday morning that the Jets had sought to speak with DeFilippo about their vacant offensive coordinator position.

DeFilippo oversaw the first year in the career of rookie quarterback Carson Wentz.

Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich has drawn interest from other teams for coaching vacancies. It's likely the team opted to keep DeFilippo in-house and keep some familiarity for Wentz.
