The New York Jets are in need of a new offensive coordinator and they're expected to begin their search by requesting an interview with Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.

In his first year with the Eagles, DeFilippo was tasked with molding second overall draft pick Carson Wentz into the team's franchise quarterback. DeFilippo spent the previous season as the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator.

Former Jets offensive coordinator Chan Gailey retired at the close of the season.
