Robert Griffin III says he's done enough to prove he deserves a shot at remaining the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback next season.

"I want to be here. I want to be with these guys to help turn this thing around," Griffin told reporters at his end-of-season press conference Monday.

Griffin said he was written off by many people before the season as someone who couldn't play in the NFL anymore, and he believes he proved those people wrong, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Whether Griffin truly proved anyone wrong is up for debate.

He started five games and threw a touchdown pass in only one of them. He also took 22 sacks. With his legs, Griffin contributed 38 yards rushing per game and scored two touchdowns.

Perhaps most importantly, Griffin failed to stay healthy. He took a big hit on a reckless run in Week 1 and did not return until Week 14, long after the Browns had been eliminated from contention.

It's hard to imagine Griffin ever getting the chance to start for another NFL team, but the Browns' quarterback situation remains in flux and it's possible Griffin will be welcomed back next season to compete for a job.
